The full quilt is a circus scene with rainbow and near white border. Dark blues fill in the upper half with three spotlights shining down on the circus ring. The spotlights are pieced using traditional piecing and foundation piecing for the more awkward areas. This quilt measures 26 by 34"" and would be ideal on the wall. It is made from six blocks which vary from 10 by 12 to 14 by 14"
The quilt itself is in my usual style, so it is a patchwork background with raw edge applique sewn with free motion embroidery. You don't need a fancy machine to sew it but your machine needs to be able to do free motion embroidery. The pattern contains basic instructions for the patchwork. I don't go into a lot of detail on patchwork as I am assuming that you know the basics but other than the odd half square triangle, it is all pretty simple.
