PDF pattern for The adventures of Poppy and Florrie block 1 quilt raw edge applique tutorial free motion embroidery

PDF pattern for block 1 of the adventures of Poppy and Florrie. In this block it is early summer and one of those delightful rainy days were it is warm and the rain is refreshing. Florrie never likes the rain so she has stayed up nice and cosy at home but Poppy has donned her wellington boots and her very smart yellow raincoat and is out to splash amongst the flowers.

The full quilt, if you wish to collect the patterns, is made from 9 blocks with this as the central block.

The quilt measures 40 by 40" and has a patchwork background with raw edge applique characters, Poppy and Flo. I use no glue, paints, or fusible. Just fabric and thread. There will be a central block, and eight surrounding blocks with Miss Poppy and Florrie as they have adventures over the year. The outer 2" of the quilt will have a slightly lighter background. The main section of the background will be bold blues, turquoise, pinks, greens and purples. The patterns are set up so you can easily change the colours if you prefer.

The patterns contains the templates along with plenty of colour photographs through each step.

I don't teach you how to do free motion embroidery in this pattern, other than my own hints and tips, neither do I tell you how to set your machine up for free motion embroidery but I do give you all the stages for you to make your own embroidery.
