** Note the third picture is not of this quilt, but of the spring version for illustration purposes. This quilt will be in blues with North USA animals and the wreath will be heart shaped***)
Starting in November 2019 I have a new block of the month pattern running for 9 months (£22 per month including postage to the UK, £4 extra cost for postage overseas)
The quilt background will be made with a soft palette of light blues with the outer 4" making a border effect with a lighter blue. Blues are hard to photograph well but the shades go through from the lightest sky blue through to some mid blues with just a touch of either purple or turquoise. I'll be adding in touches of soft lime and darker indigo blue purples. I often put in creams for neutrals but in this quilt, I'll stick with whites to keep the feel cool. The raw-edge applique wreath will form a heart shape and will fill the entire quilt (to within two inches of the edge) and there will be a central appliqued panel. I'm splitting the quilt into 9 sections which will average 12 by 12". Most will have an animal as well as lots of flowers but there will be a couple with just flowers. The flowers will be all sorts of colours and the leaves will generally be cooler colours or soft limes. The animals will be American based rather than British wildlife so I'll have some fun picking, but planning on including hares, raccoons, oppossums, skunks, squirrels, cardinals, beavers and otters.
I am planning on running the block of the month as I'm making the quilt, so I won't have a full picture until much later in the year. I'm hoping o to get the first three blocks done before it starts. The raccoon in the picture will be the top right hand block and gives a good example of the colours.
This quilt measures 40 by 40" and would be ideal on the wall or to cuddle up under.
The kits will be shipped at approximately the beginning of each month. If you are overseas please allow an extra week or so for shipping.
This listing is for the full kit, including the background fabric, the applique fabric, the full printed pattern and templates, freezer paper and stabiliser. You will need to use your own threads and you will need the means to sew it. (Either by machine or by hand (which will take much longer!) I will be doing a listing for the threads I have used if you want to purchase them to go along side the kit.
I will also be selling printed patterns and PDF patterns but will just list those as I have them ready, no deposit necessary.
The quilt itself is in my usual style, so it is a patchwork background with raw edge applique sewn with free motion embroidery. You don't need a fancy machine to sew it but your machine needs to be able to do free motion embroidery. The pattern contains basic instructions for the patchwork.
The fabrics are supplied as a rectangle/square big enough for the shape you need. No laser cutting so you are relying on freezer paper/pencil and scissors to cut the shapes out yourself. I like this step as it is quite therapeutic. I label all the fabrics with little stickers which tell you what they are to be used for so it makes it a little easier to know which bit goes where. I use raw edge techniques and the patterns are using those instructions, but I will put in sufficient fabric that you could also use needle turn techniques, but no instructions will be given. Some of the pieces are VERY small and needleturn will be a challenge. Just so you are warned. An alternative for hand sewing would be to use a little fusible or glue and replicate the machine lines by hand stitching, a stem stitch for preference.
I am based in the UK and I am happy to ship worldwide. If you are outside the UK then there will be an additional £4 postage charge for either the patterns/kits each month as that is how much extra it costs me.
As I am a one woman band, I am limiting the number of places I am offering. When these sell out that will be it. This will make it easier for purchasing fabrics as I like to use current runs of batiks and they aren't available for long.
The prices for the full kits will be £22 plus postage outside the UK if necessary (£4 each month) for a total of 9 months. I am asking for a £10 deposit which I will refund out of the final (9th) kit. This will enable me to purchase all the paper/stabilizer/fabrics etc before hand so I don't run out, and I can get started on kit cutting etc. If you need to cancel the subscription at any point, please do just message me. I totally understand that things come up and I would never want any one to get into trouble financially by trying to continue a kit that isn't appropriate for them at the time. :)
The first kit will be sent out at the beginning of November. When you pay the deposit, I will add you to my list and each month I will send you a paypal invoice for the monthly amount. When you pay, I will ship out each month. If you want the invoice to be sent to a different email than is associated with your Etsy account, just let me know so I can amend my files. I won't send you anything physical when you purchase this desposit listing but I'll message you an acknowledgement.
Right I think is everything! I will keep this listing up until the end of October, or until all the listings have all been purchased, which ever comes sooner.
Thank you, and any questions please do ask.
I accept all the payment methods that Etsy will allow so spend spend , haha. If you purchase something from me and change your mind, let me know as soon as possible as I can cancel the order. If I have already shipped then we can do a return and I can refund all except the postage. x
Currently my turn around is 2 to 4 weeks. I am working to get this down and hopefully next year (2019) I will be operating under a 1 week turnaround. Please allow enough time when you are ordering, and if you do need something desperately then send me a message before you buy and I will see what I can do. I send smaller items in the UK by Royal mail, and for overseas. Larger items are sent by My Hermes courier so they are insured. Larger orders will require a signature on receipt.

Please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
If your item doesn't arrive to you in tip top condition, please let me know ASAP and we can sort something out, either by a part/full refund or returning the item (I would cover the postage costs.) If you don't like the item once it is in your hands (I am sure this could NEVER happen) then contact me and we can arrange for you to return the item for a full refund assuming it is still in tip top condition but I'm afraid I would ask you to cover the return postage costs unless there is an actual fault.
Any questions, please just contact me and I will be happy to help you.
