Printed pattern for raw edge applique using free motion embroidery. It's a hard life as a scullery maid but Mrs Hazelton, the cook, promises Mabel if she keeps to her work that nothing will be out of her reach, she could maybe even be a housekeeper one day. But for now she has pots to wash.
This is the second block in what I hope will be a long series of 15 similar sized blocks, all based on life in a Victorian house, both above and below stairs. At the minute I'm estimating the quilt will be around 42" by 60" but I have a fair way to go before I can confirm that. I'm hoping to use the borders to build up a house complete with roof and chimney :) This block measures 8 by 12" finished (8.5 by 12.5" unfinished.)
I will be looking to complete the remaining blocks over the summer months if you wish to do the full quilt, otherwise it would make a lovely standalone panel.
This pattern contains the templates along with plenty of colour photographs through each step.
I don't teach you how to do free motion embroidery in this pattern, other than my own hints and tips, neither do I tell you how to set your machine up for free motion embroidery but I do give you all the stages for you to make your own embroidery.
